The Book Of James: 2:5-7

Should You Ignore The Poor

James 2:5-7 emphasizes the importance of treating all individuals with equal regard, regardless of their socioeconomic status. We may encounter individuals who possess both wealth and righteousness, as well as those who are wealthy yet lack moral integrity, similarly, there may be those who are not financially secure yet exhibit strong faith. It is crucial to not permit financial standing to sway our judgments and actions toward others.

God has chosen the poor to be rich in faith is great news. When you don’t have a lot of money or resources you are more willing to rely on and trust God as your provider. The rich on the other hand tend to trust in their wealth and their status. Many disrespect the Lord and do not recognize their need for a Savior.

If you are not where you want to be financially becoming rich in faith will lead you to the true riches of peace, healing, and even prosperity.  We as Christians should treat the poor with respect and tell them the good news of Jesus and His saving grace. Jesus became poor so that we could become rich. (2 Corinthians 8:9)

Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father, I give thanks to You for molding my character daily and helping me to resemble You more closely. Grant me the strength to overcome the obstacles I face and to find rest in Your presence, where I am filled with peace, hope, and comfort. I pray this in Jesus name. Amen
