The Book Of James: 1:16-18
How to Stay the Course and Not Be Mislead
Do you ever feel lost or unsure of your direction in life? If you answered yes, you're not alone. We all feel off course at times, because life isn't always a smooth, straight path forward. It's actually quite normal. Imagine when you take a flight on a plane - did you know that during the entire flight, the plane is usually off course about 90% of the time? It's pretty amazing to think about, and throughout the flight, the pilots are constantly making adjustments to get everyone to their destination. This is a lot like life - we get thrown off course by the uncertainties and challenges of life, but we work hard to make adjustments and get back on track. It's not about being perfectly on course all the time, but about making progress and continually course correcting along the way. Remember, your Christian walk is about making progress, not perfection.
One thing I love about today's scriptures is that they remind us that God is our source of light and truth. Everything that is good and perfect comes from him, as a gift to us, his beloved creation. And it's important to remember that God is unchanging - he is not subject to the kind of fluctuations and changes that we see in the physical world. He is steady and consistent, and we can rely on him to guide us toward the best possible plan for our lives. He is our source of light and truth, and we can trust in him to lead us forward.
Don’t be deceived or doubtful of God’s goodness. He is good to us all the time. It may not seem like it when we are going through trials and hardships. It may be painful at the time but with God, you will come through stronger and wiser. God gives good and perfect gifts. Evil does not come from Him, but from Satan our enemy, and at times our own sinful nature when we choose to make bad decisions.
Romans 2:4 “Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance (change of heart from your desires to God’s way)?”
When we really know how much God loves us and is for us and gives only good gifts to us, we can live life more abundantly.
Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for keeping me on the best possible path for my life. Even when things don’t go as I hoped, I know that You help me see the light in every situation and circumstance. Thank You for Your continual fellowship giving me wisdom, guidance, and direction daily to experience a victory today in Jesus name Amen!
